A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker
Dear staff, families and community members,
I want to take a moment to share some information about two levies we have on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Supplemental Operations Levy
- This three-year measure is in response to the state legislature slightly increasing what is known as the “levy lid.” The levy lid is the maximum funding our state allows school districts to raise through local levies.
- This levy would allow us to collect additional funding to support ongoing classroom and staffing needs and help stabilize our budget moving forward.
Facilities Maintenance Levy
- This six-year capital levy focuses on maintaining and preserving our school buildings, which are also community resources outside of school hours.
- The facilities maintenance levy would fund projects that keep schools safe and energy-efficient, such as roofs and windows, furniture, preventive maintenance in schools, and projects that make schools welcoming and accessible to all.
- Putting forward ballot measures is not something we take lightly. We appreciate the work of our capital levy committee, which included school and district staff, community members and parents. Their recommendation helped us decide to put these levies forward to our community.

I want to let you know that I am happy to attend a group event, book club or neighborhood gathering – feel free to invite me! I can talk about the levy, give an update on our district and schools and/or answer questions. It’s always fun to meet with folks – just send me an email, and I’ll do my best to attend.
